I know what your thinking by reading the title: I may be a little nuts. While that may be true, hear my out on this analogy I had recently come up with.
Trusting in God is like getting a haircut.
When you walk into the barber shop or salon or wherever you get your haircut, they sit you down in the chair and the first thing you tell them is what you want done to it. The person then begins cutting away.
However, as they are cutting your hair, even though you told them what you want, you don’t 100% know what it’s gonna look like in the end.
But you trust them because you know that they know what they’re doing.
God is the barber in this. He knows what he’s doing, so you just have to trust Him, even if you don’t know what it’s gonna look like for you. At times during the process, it may look ugly, but it God always makes a way through.

The Book of Proverbs tells us “The heart of man plans his way, but the Lord establishes his steps.” (Proverbs 16:9 ESV). Earlier in the chapter, we are also told “The Lord has made everything for its purpose, even the wicked for the day of trouble.” (Proverbs 16:4 ESV).
Even if things look bleak at times or even now in your life, put your full faith and trust in the plan that God has for your life. It won’t be an overnight change, but if you slowly start day by day and find God in every day parts of your life, you’ll start to see God’s plan shine through into your life.
Being able to find Jesus in every aspect of life is something that I find super beneficial in my faith journey. Whether it be in the walks I take, my commute to work, or something as simple as getting a haircut, we can find Jesus in every day life.
