Building their roots in the heart of South Elgin and recently expanding into the town of Batavia, Louie Angelo’s is a family owned restaurant that has a mission to deliver high-quality food with high-quality service. Winning the award for “Best New Restaurant” in 2020 by the Kane County Chronicle, this establish takes the best of classic Italian dishes and adds incredible hospitality that will leave you wanting to order every single thing on the menu.

My Experience:

Grilled pieces of bread with chicken and pesto pieces, next to a cup of white alfredo sauce and in the back, a side of yellow french fries.

My most recent trip to this restaurant was my second time going, and each time I ordered the same meal: a Chicken Alfredo panini with a side of french fries. This sandwich is one that, although seems very simple, is one packed with a ton of flavor and was unlike any I had seen before. This featured pieces of grilled chicken and your slices of bread with pesto mayo, mozzarella cheese, and homemade alfredo sauce on the side. Normally, this sandwich includes mushrooms on top, but for this second time through, I ordered the sandwich without them.

When I tell you that I may have set a record for how fast I ate this, believe me, this sandwich had me not wanting to put it down. It was better the second time around. Putting the cup of alfredo sauce on the side was the best decision for this sandwich; being able to dip my sandwich into it allowed me to have the most amount of flavor with every bite that I took. The pesto mayo really blended well

Not pictured above, but my fiancé ordered a vodka rigatoni with a side of garlic bread, and that was perfectly made. The pasta was cooked to perfection and I don’t know what was in the sauce, but I had to continuously stop myself from eating her food 🤣. The garlic bread that came with her meal was also the perfect compliment for my cup of leftover alfredo sauce.

I will certainly be making this a regular spot for me, and I recommend you do as well.
